The company was founded in 1974 by Mr. Battista Zanotti in Brescia, Italy, and it was named Officine Meccaniche Zanotti.
It was a small workshop which produced spare parts for rolling mills during the heyday of the development of the steel industry in the north of Italy.
Mr. Zanotti specialized in manufacturing mill stands and gearboxes very soon, thanks to his innate capability. Indeed he has supplied his products to major companies, such as Acciaierie di Piombino and ILVA in Taranto, for more than ten years.
Then twenty years ago, after his cooperation with the leading Italian companies, he focused in supplying complete hot rolling mills for the production of 150.000 / 450.000 tpy of rebars and small section mills.
So he continued to increase and specialize his knowledge and experience to provide the best quality of his product and from the year 2000, especially after the beginning of the Italian crisis in the field, he developed projects only for foreigner purchaser, primarily in the Middle-Est.
Our core business includes not only the supply of complete plants, but spare parts as well and modernization of existing rolling mills with increase of productivity.
Our in-house technical staff allows us to guarantee our effort in turnkey solution, from the very beginning of the project of the plant to the erection, commissioning, performance test and start up. In fact, we can say we take care of the purchaser in each step.
During the last years, the company supplied its plants mainly to Egypt, Marocco, Jordan, Serbia, Lebanon, South Africa, Syria and Saudi Arabia.
We have just finalized the supply of a turnkey rebar hot rolling mill plant in Egypt, for the production of approximative 350.000 tpy of rebars in the size from Ø 10 mm to Ø 25 mm, using billets in the size of 150 mm x 150 mm x 12000 mm, with housingless horizontal and vertical stands, 2 strands and slitting system.
Our plants, according to customers’ needs, reached a maximum reliability within all their components and an excellent product quality, with an extraordinary level of mill productivity.
We also achieved our fundamental goal to ensure a cost optimization and short delivery times, which are very appreciated by our clients.
The company, however, continues to improve its expertise in order to guarantee the maximum level of competitiveness.
